A descriptive survey to assess the awareness of the components of respectful maternity care (RMC) among nurse-midwives working in maternity units

Respectful maternity care refers to organized for and provided all women in a manner that maintains their dignity, privacy confidentiality, ensures freedom from harm mistreatment, enables informed choice continuous support during labour childbirth (WHO, 2018). Aim: The aim of present study was assess the awareness components respectful among nurse-midwives working units.Method: A descriptive survey design adopted study. Self-structured questionnaire used collect socio-demographic data by WRAI regarding RMC units selected health facility.Results: participants were female registered with majority, 45% age group 31 40 years. findings demonstrated aware most like right ill treatment, information consent, dignity respect, equitable but less certain rights birth companion preference, arbitrary detention, newborn be parent/guardian, nationality identity birth, adequate nutrition clean water grievance redressal. Frequent in-service training is recommended increase care.Conclusion: universal newborns. shows rights/components nurse-midwives. care.
